More About Me

I moved to Ithaca after my wife accepted a position at Cornell University. We bought our home here sight unseen, from Wisconsin, because we couldn’t find a short-term rental for our family circus of two children, two dogs and two cats.

Our home search was rushed. We leaned heavily on a real estate agent to introduce us to Ithaca and guide us skillfully around town. She listened to our story, oriented us to specific neighborhoods, and moved quickly to submit our offers, ultimately getting us under contract in ten days. We love where we landed. It’s the perfect home for us, and we don’t wish we were anywhere else.

Buying or selling a home is stressful; even more so in a pandemic. It is through this lens that I approach my work. I understand the vital role a REALTOR® can play in translating a family’s personal and financial situations into a successful real estate transaction.

I am honored to be joining The Jill Burlington Team. Jill has been the #1 volume agent in the Ithaca / Tompkins County market for several years. How fortunate I am to have full access to her deep experience and expert guidance, say nothing of the support of the largest and most respected brokerage in the market, Warren Real Estate, a local, family-owned company with a 65-year track record.

Before this, I was the general manager of a Spanish tapas restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin. I have also owned a traditional summer camp for children and teenagers, raised endangered Milking Devon cattle, developed affordable housing in New York City, and taught math at an orphanage in Cochabamba, Bolivia. All of this has taught me the importance of finding meaning in my work. Today I am at Warren to make sure you get the home you want, because a home is not just a roof over your head. It becomes a part of your family’s traditions, a gathering space for friends, membership in a neighborhood, and probably your largest financial asset.

During the pandemic, I have been cooking from scratch, doing the New York Times crossword with my wife, visiting playgrounds with my daughters, watching the men’s national soccer team, and trading cryptocurrencies.

I graduated from Connecticut College with a B.A. in economics where I captained the lacrosse team. I am originally from Pennsylvania, near Harrisburg. I’m thrilled to be back in the Northeast, and eager to help you find your new home in the Finger Lakes.
